Reporting to the Branch Operations Manager, the Transportation Supervisor is responsible for supervision of all drivers, daily dispatch, maintenance of vehicles, driver orientation/evaluation and training.

Scheduled work hours are based on business needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Daily supervision of all route drivers
  • Oversite of daily dispatch (1 – 3 deliveries) & 3PL shipping; FedEx, UPS and other common carriers
  • Develops, plans & implements vehicle preventative maintenance programs to comply with safety regulations & vehicle manufacturer guidelines
  • Maintain equipment records in accordance with Federal/State & Local laws and regulations
  • Oversees DOT compliance & reporting along with managing DMV registration requirements & renewals
  • Tracks and reviews fleet expense by asset, provides recommendations to increase efficiency & profitability
  • Takes part in Route Driver training, onboarding/recruiting process, weekly ride-a-longs
  • Works with Corporate Operations and Branch Operations Managers to review new fleet purchases & replacement needs
  • Work with Safety Team for safety and OSHA compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong understanding of Excel, Access, and other similar applications
  • Ability to utilize GPS, Telematics and In Cab Cameras to track, trend & coach driver Behavior
  • Familiar with enterprise software and warehouse management systems
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze and problem-solve
  • Ability to be flexible, work effectively both independently and with other people
  • Ability to travel throughout Southern CA as well as multi-day site trips to DC’s located outside of So. CA
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, ability to compute rate
  • Able to interface, work, and communicate with people of varied backgrounds and at all levels

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or Technical Certificate, or an equivalent combination of training & experience
  • 3+ years of increasingly responsible experience in Fleet Management and Leadership
  • Tire industry knowledge preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Repetitive motions sitting at a keyboard
  • May require rising/sitting repeatedly, ability to lift, pull, grasp, stoop, reach to utilize 5-drawer file cabinets
  • May require climbing stairs and walking indoors or outdoors at various company locations.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25lbs. from floor to waist
  • Vision abilities: close/distance/color/peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
