Position Summary

Timothy Leaders provide oversight to the Timothy Program members. Timothy Leaders will work closely with the program manager to lead bible studies, activities, and mentor those in the Timothy program. Timothy leaders will also help with camper daily chapels, Sunday services, and give support, training, and guidance to both Timothy members and other staff in the overall effort to promote the spiritual emphasis within the entire summer program.

Essential Functions

  • Encourage the professional and spiritual growth of the Timothy Program
  • Lead Bible Studies, Activities and Mentor Timothy Program members (all minors at camp).
  • Organize and plan daily chapel services.
  • Coordinate with Program Team to ensure chapels run efficient, organized and smoothly.
  • Schedule weekly staff devotions and coordinate the staffing needs to cover supervisions of campers during this time.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff orientation.
  • Attend and actively participate in all staff meetings.
  • Complete a brief at the end of the summer.
  • Support and enforce overall camp policies and procedures.
  • Conduct himself/herself at all times in a manner likely to bring credit and respect to The Salvation Army and its doctrinal teachings.

Compensation

$370/Weekly

Education
High School or Equivalent (preferred)

Experience
Must be at least 21 years old. Ability to exercise confidentiality. Ability to communicate and work with groups participating and provide necessary instruction to campers. Ability to relate to one's peer group and provide supervision and guidance to peers. Ability to work well with children. Ability and experience in teaching activities to large group of children. Previous counseling experience essential. Personal Christian commitment and desire to share the Christian message with others. (required)
