The Staff Technical Program Manager Opportunity

We are looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead and deliver programs and projects that will enable Okta to scale. In this role, you will partner with internal Business and Technology Stakeholders to plan, execute, and deploy complex initiatives.

You are experienced in clarifying strategic goals, scope, schedule, and budget. You are a strong leader and have a strategic mindset that allows you to drive initiatives across various functional departments including but not limited to Marketing, GTM, Customer Success/Support, Finance, People/Places, Business Technology, and M&A. In addition, you are experienced in implementing process improvements to evolve how we work in SaaS and Agile environments.

What you'll be doing

  • Partners and manages various multi-team program/project initiatives across Okta; develops and maintains detailed project plans and RAID logs; tracks and keeps projects on schedule, manages deadlines, takes a hands-on and proactive approach to unblock progress, introduces efficiencies, and provides solutions.
  • Provides the structure to kick-off and run continuous and time-bound programs/projects. Clarifies priorities, enables the execution of deliverables and is always transparent on the goals/objectives..
  • Employs communication strategies to ensure clear and crisp transparency around status, issues and risks of initiatives at all levels of the organization - project teams, senior and executive leaders.
  • Anticipates and mitigates risks by having close involvement with the team. Applies past experience and keeps the big picture in mind as the teams collectively solution.
  • Builds and maintains alignment across multiple teams to keep a focus on execution, continuous improvement and operational excellence. Facilitates effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across the organization with many competing priorities. Improves the productivity of the entire team by crafting process efficiencies, and filling in gaps where needed

What you'll bring to the role

  • 8+ years of program/project management experience in SaaS/Agile environments
  • Demonstrated ability in communicating and presenting to C level executives
  • Proven experience working hand-in-hand with business and technology teams including but not limited to: Product Owners, Business Analysts, Enterprise Architects, Software Engineers, Comms/Enablement, QA and Release Management.
  • Knowledge of business processes and systems including but not limited to Salesforce, Anaplan, Netsuite, RevPro and Workday
  • Experienced with Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace, Smartsheet, Tempus, etc.
  • Self-starter; able to work in an ambiguous and constantly changing environment.

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!

  • Bachelors of Science in CS, MIS, related technical degree or equivalent work experience with minimum of 4 years of technical work experience
  • PMP & Scrum certification desirable (CSM, A-CSM, etc)

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:
$132,000$198,000 USD
The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:
$148,000$222,000 USD
